Creating Tutorials

We normally start out by teaching the students the general features in Microsoft Word like text and paragraph and page formatting. By the time we get to preparing specific documents some students have forgotten how to perform some of these tasks. Does this happen in your class?

If it does then you can create mini tutorials on how to change paper size, margins and set tabs, etc. You can even use these tutorials for students who were absent and need to catch up. You can try Camtasia. It's not free but you can download a trial version and create a tutorial library.

An alternative to Camtasia is Wink.  It allows you to do the same thing but it's free.  You can even get students involved in creating tutorials for their peers.  It will allow them to use their creativity, learn a new skill and will surely boost their self esteem.
